Antestor

Antestor é uma banda cristã de black metal da Noruega. É uma das mais antigas bandas cristãs desse país. Antestor é reconhecido como um grupo cristão pioneiro de metal extremo na Europa.

Em 1990 Antestor é formada por Lars Stokstad, Kjetil Molnes, e Erling Jørgensen, sob o nome Crush Evil. Mais tarde, Paul W juntou-se como baterista. Nessa altura o som da banda era uma mistura entredeath metal, doom metal e thrash metal.

Em 1991 gravam a primeira demo The Defeat of Satan. A existência de uma banda cristã de death metal causou muita polémica. A banda foi alvo de várias ameaças de morte por parte de bandas que defendem a filosofia Satanista. Nos anos 90 Bård Faust (Emperor) perguntou a Euronymous (Mayhem) se ele não pensava que a existência de uma banda cristã de death metal era um insulto. Euronymous respondeu que tinha um plano para matar os membros de Antestor, contudo a banda sobreviveu a estas ameaças. Ironicamente, Jan Axel Von Blomberg, membro da banda Mayhem, juntou-se mais tarde ao Antestor como baterista.

Em 1993, Vegard Undal juntou-se á banda como baixista e Svein Sander ocupou a bateria. Durante este período mudaram o nome da banda para Antestor (palavra latina para testemunhar ou chamado para testemunhar). A demo Despair foi lançada sob este nome.

No ano seguinte, gravaram o primeiro álbum, chamado Martyrium. Devido a alguns problemas com a editora Morphine Records, só foram distribuídas 50 cópias, que se espalharam rapidamente.

Em 1997 a banda gravou um cd promocional, que chamou a atenção da editora inglesa Cacophonous Records. Foi logo assinado um contrato, e assim que a editora tomou conhecimento das crenças religiosas da banda, foi-lhes sugerido que retirassem algumas partes mais provocadoras das letras. Em 98 o cd promocial foi relançado sob o nome The Return of the Black Death. Depois do lançamento deste álbum, a banda voltou a ter problemas com a editora. Esta não lhes pagou nem entrou em contacto com eles. Segundo alguns rumores, a editora deixou os de parte quando soube das suas crenças cristãs.

Em 2000, apesar do contrato com a Cacophonous ainda ser válido, Antestor assinou com a Endtime Productions. Kjetil Molnes deixou a banda pouco depois. O facto da banda cristã Vaakevandring se ter separado, levou a que alguns dos seus membros se juntassem a Antestor: como Ronny Hansen e Morten Sigmund Magerøy. Ann-Mari Edvardsen ocupou os vocais femininos. Ainda nesse ano, acompanharam a banda Extol numa tour pelos Estados Unidos.

Em 2003 as demos Despair e Kongsblod foram re-lançadas, sob o nome de The Defeat of Satan. Svein Sander abandonou a banda, deixando o lugar de baterista vago por algum tempo.

Em 2004, o renomado baterista norueguês Jan Axel Von Blomberg juntou-se à banda e gravou com o Antestor um EP chamado "Det Tapte Liv". O estilo musical do Antestor migrou para symphonic black metal.

Em 2005 apresentam o seu segundo álbum, The Forsaken. Jan Axel Von Blomberg também foi o baterista da banda na gravação desse álbum, que foi muito bem recebido pela crítica. Alguns membros do Antestor ainda tocam na banda Vaakevandring.

A 31 de Março de 2007 a banda anunciou o fim de suas atividades.

Bloodgood é uma banda estadunidense de heavy/power metal.
Foi fundada em 1985, pelos músicos Les Carlsen, David Zaffiro, J.T.Taylor e Michael Bloodgood. Seu álbum "Detonation" é o mais famoso, contendo, por exemplo, as clássicas "Crucify" e "The Messiah", além de "Holy Fire", "Battle of Flesh", entre outras. É uma das primeiras bandas de Christian metal, assim como o Stryper, Bride, Barren Cross,Sacred Warrior, etc. Atualmente, só restam "Lesk" e Michael, já que Zaffiro e JT saíram, dando lugar a Mark Welling e Paul Jackson. Além disso, Oz Fox, depois de sair do Stryper se tornou o guitarrista-base do Bloodgood.

HB é uma banda de metal sinfônico cristão formada em 2002, na cidade de Forssa, Finlândia. Depois de terem lançado sua demo em 2002, HB lançou mais três álbuns: Uskon Puolesta (2003), Enne (2006) eFrozen Inside (2008). A banda também lançou um single chamado Turhaa tärinää? (2004). O segundo álbum da banda - Enne - permaneceu por quatro semanas na 27ª posição do Top 40 da Finlândia.

O som do álbum é similar ao de bandas como Nightwish e Within Temptation. A diferença entre as bandas citadas e HB está primeiramente nas letras, compostas por Antti Niskala e são fortemente espirituais.

Banda de Metalcore Cristão da Florida, Estados Unidos.

O Underoath surge em um mercado em um ano de revolução, em 1999, com o álbum Act Of Depression, que assim como o álbum seguinte (Cries of The Past - 2000) contava com músicas bastante exóticas e de grande tempo de duração. Em 2002 a banda parece ter se reestruturado, lançando um álbum mais completo e bastante diferenciado de seus últimos trabalhos. Após o lançamento do The Changing of Times, por divergências ideológicas o vocalista Dallas retira-se da banda. Parecia que realmente presenciávamos uma mudança de tempos: no lugar de Dallas surge Spencer Chamberlain, e ainda uma mudança de gravadora (saem da Takehold e juntam-se à Solid State). Introduzindo mais vocais melódicos entre os guturais, o que se intensificou no seu seguinte álbum, (They're Only Chasing Safety - 2004). Foi então que surgiu o rótulo de "Old Underoath" para a carreira da banda até seu terceiro álbum.

Fruto Sagrado é uma banda de rock cristão brasileira.

A banda nasceu em Niterói, no estado do Rio de Janeiro, em 1988, com o desejo de tocar, de expressar através da música sua relação com Deus e com o mundo à sua volta. O grupo sempre utilizou o rock como base para todas as composições, tendo como característica marcante suas letras. O Fruto Sagrado sempre falou de forma clara e direta sobre temas do cotidiano focando problemas sociais, políticos e existenciais. O nome da banda Fruto Sagrado se baseia nesta passagem do evangelho de João:

Vocês não me escolheram, mas eu os escolhi para irem e darem fruto, fruto que permaneça (João 15:16a NVI).

Blindside

Blindside é uma banda de pós-hardcore/new metal da Suécia. No início da carreira em 1994 em Estocolmo na Suécia, a banda era chamada Underfree e era formada por Magnus Erikson (ex-guitarrista), Simon, Christian e Marcus. Depois de um tempo Tomas entrou na banda e Magnus saiu. Depois de alguns meses a banda lançou seu primeiro demo em meados de 1995 (esse álbum nunca mais foi encontrado) e finalmente em 1996 mudou o nome para Blindside, foi quando lançaram dois novos demos, agora com uma produção de verdade.

Oficina G3 é uma banda de rock cristão formada em São Paulo, Brasil. Foi fundada por Juninho Afram, Wagner García e Walter Lopes, no fim dos anos 1980. Banda de Trash/Death Metal Cristão astrauliana.

História da Banda

No final dos anos 1980, o baixista Steve Rowe tocava na banda de metal Lightforce, com sucesso em seu país. Por volta de 1990 a banda terminou, porém Steve permanecia com vontade de tocar heavy metal com uma mensagem cristã, e foi acompanhado pelo baterista Jayson Sherlock e pelo guitarrista Cameron Hall. Lançaram o trabalho demo em 1990 Break The Curse sob o nome da Lightforce, na qual Steve era vocalista. Com esse lançamento, a banda mudou musicalmente para o thrash metal, com uma influência do death metal também. Steve percebeu que a nova direção musical da banda exigia um novo nome, e então o grupo passou a se chamar Mortification.
